Pear Blossom Royalty: Shelby Minor

EDITOR'S NOTE: Nine Jackson County senior girls have been selected as princesses to compete for the title of queen of the 2013 Pear Blossom Festival in Medford. Following is biographical information about one of the girls; Bios for all the girls will be published between March 20 and March 28.

Honors and Awards: Honor Roll (five semesters)

School Activities: Varsity basketball for three years (Second Team All-Conference 2011, First Team All-Conference 2012, All-Conference MVP 2012, team captain 2012), Key Club, Sparrow Club, Leadership

Civic Involvement: Ashland volleyball Grizz Camp counselor, Ashland girls basketball camp, National Public Land Day, Ashland Food Bank, Mount Ashland Clean-Up Day

Future Education/Career Plans: Plans to attend the University of New Mexico to major in business with a marketing emphasis and a minor in American Sign Language. She hopes to work for a large clothing company and travel the world.

The 23rd annual Senior Royalty Scholarship Pageant will be held at 7 p.m. Saturday, March 30, in the North Medford High School auditorium. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. Tickets are $8 for adults, $6 for students and free for children younger than 6.
