Pear Blossom Royalty: Shantelle Oswald
EDITOR'S NOTE: Nine Jackson County senior girls have been selected as princesses to compete for the title of queen of the 2013 Pear Blossom Festival in Medford. Following is biographical information about one of the girls; bios for all the girls are being published between March 20 and March 28.

Honors and Awards: Honor Roll (grades 9-12), National Forensics League member
School Activities: Cheerleading, speech and debate, student congress
Civic Involvement: Visited foster children at foster home on a weekly basis, tutored elementary school children, helps her disabled aunt, supports recovering alcoholics going through AA
Future Education/Career Plans: Plans to attend Rogue Community College before transferring to Oregon Institute of Technology with the goal of becoming a physician's assistant.
The 23rd annual Senior Royalty Scholarship Pageant will be held at 7 p.m. Saturday, March 30, in the North Medford High School Auditorium. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. Tickets are $8 for adults, $6 for students and free for children under 6.
