Medford expands coaching staff, roster

The Medford Rogues announced additions to the 2014 coaching staff and roster on Wednesday.

Joining the Rogues coaching staff is former Oregon State player and assistant coach Jared Norris.

Medford also added left-handed pitcher Steven Naemark of Campbellsville (Kentucky) University to its roster.

Norris will work as an assistant after finishing his first year as an undergraduate assistant for the Beavers.

Norris played three years for Oregon State following one year for Yavapai Community College in Prescott, Ariz. He was a part of three NCAA tournament appearances, with one super regional appearance.

Norris was an all-Pac 10 honorable mention in 2009 and was also named the 2007 Iowa player of the year for that season's champion Urbandale High School squad.

Norris played in the Northwoods League in 2009.

"Jared's a great choice to complete our coaching staff," Rogues general manager Chuck Heeman said. "He's got summer ball experience and knows what it takes to win at the collegiate and summer ball level. He'll do well and we're lucky to have him with us."

Naemark, who is 6-foot-3 and 195 pounds, appeared in 20 games while starting 15 for Cochise Junior College. Over his freshman season he compiled an 11-4 record for the Apaches, helping them to a 52-19 overall record.

He accumulated 80 strikeouts in his 116 innings of work and issued 36 walks.
