Officers from nine Southern Oregon and state law enforcement agencies converged on two Grants Pass properties Tuesday in a massive drug bust that netted the seizure of several pounds of illegal drugs, eight firearms and stolen ATVs, Oregon State Police reported.

The raids also resulted in four arrests.

Officers from the Rogue Area Drug Enforcement (RADE) team issued search warrants Tuesday at 2:30 p.m. at two adjacent properties — a house and a fifth-wheel trailer — at 2955 and 2989 Cloverlawn Drive.

During the search, police found five pistols, three rifles — including a sawed-off shotgun — five ounces of methamphetamine, less than one pound of marijuana and more than two pounds of heroin. The heroin seizure was described as the largest in RADE's five-year existence. Police also found three stolen ATVs and stolen tools.

Other agencies, including the Drug Enforcement Administration, Homeland Security, Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, Medford Area Drug and Gang Enforcement, Oregon State Police and Grants Pass Department of Public Safety, assisted in the operation.

Marcos Antonio Gutierrez, 35, and Samuel De La Cruz Gutierrez, 42, were arrested at the trailer, where police seized drugs and guns, including the sawed-off shotgun. Both men are held in the Josephine County Jail on charges of possession, distribution and manufacture of heroin and methamphetamine. Bail was set at $1 million each, according to jail records.

David Wesley Jones, 31, was found in the trailer today, after fleeing Tuesday. He was arrested on a probation violation warrant stemming from previous burglary charges, along with unlawful possession of methamphetamine and two counts of unlawful use of a vehicle. Jones is jailed on $15,000 bail.

Christine Esquivel, 23, was arrested at 2955 Cloverlawn Drive, where she lived, police said. She was booked for unlawful possession of methamphetamine and two counts of unlawful use of a vehicle, but she was not listed in the jail log.

Additional arrests in the case are anticipated, and more charges could be added to those arrested, police said. Anyone with additional information is asked to call the RADE tip line at 541-955-6970.
