Fire investigators train in Ashland
The Rogue Valley District of the International Association of Arson Investigators kicked off its annual conference in Ashland today.
The organization's annual career development school, in its 28th year, attracts about 50 fire investigators from the western United States and Canada, officials said.
The conference runs through Jan. 31 at the Ashland Elks Lodge.
During the training, fire investigators will learn about investigating the cause of wildfires, solid fuel and gas-burning appliances and investigation tactics.
