Medford School District teachers trailed the statewide salary average by about $1,200 in 2012-13, but more than offset that with lower insurance costs, according to figures from the Oregon School Boards Association.

The first line below shows statewide teacher salary averages for 2012-13, Medford teacher averages for 2012-13, the district's proposed changes in current negotiations and the Medford Education Association's proposal. Following that are comparisons of contract days, PERS payments and insurance costs, again for 2012-13.

The statewide numbers, which are the most recent available from the OSBA, are averages for 45 Oregon districts with more than 3,000 students.
