Crater Rock Museum puts crystals on display
The Crater Rock Museum will showcase crystals from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 8, at 2002 Scenic Ave., Central Point.
There will be a hands-on demonstration using large crystal specimens, and attendees will be able to create their own crystal models.
A new class starts each hour and, if the weather is good, a rock yard will be open for kids and adults to hunt for petrified wood, agates, jasper, obsidian and many other great rocks, all sold for 25 cents per pound.
On the second Saturday of each month, the museum offers free admission for kids, along with classes and activities designed for elementary students.
Adults get in for $5, seniors for $3. For more information, call the museum at 541-664-6081 or see www.craterrock.com.
