Reward offered in burglary that took everything but the kitchen sink

Thousands of dollars in reward money are being offered to anyone who helps with the arrest of burglars who pilfered more than $20,000 in appliances, carpeting and cabinets from a Rogue River home last month.

A Grants Pass couple had been remodeling the vacant home in the 2100 block of West Evans Creek Road for sale and the burglary was discovered by a real estate agent showing the home Jan. 18, authorities said. At a previous showing Jan. 16, the home was intact.

A refrigerator, an electric range, a dishwasher, a microwave oven, kitchen cabinets and countertops, a water heater, a bathroom sink and medicine cabinet, and even carpeting from a bedroom were taken from the home. Some carpeting also had been torn up and the carpet padding hung over the windows, a news release said.

The kitchen sink was left sitting on the floor.

The home had just been through a remodel and everything taken was brand new, authorities said.

"It appeared all the cabinets and appliances had been carefully and professionally removed, not just removed," a news release from the Jackson County Sheriff's Department said.

Crime Stoppers is offering $1,000 for the arrest and conviction of those responsible. The homeowners have offered $2,000 for information leading to an arrest and $3,000 if their property is recovered as well.

Anyone with information about the case should contact the Jackson County Sheriff's Office tip line at 541-774-8333.

The Jackson County Sheriff's Department released these photos of the home before and after the reported burglary.
