La Clinica will still serve students during Medford teachers strike
La Clinica will provide limited health services to Medford School District students during the teachers strike.
A news release from La Clinica says health centers will be open from 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. weekdays starting Tuesday at Jackson and Washington elementary schools, where students will attend classes during the strike. The Oak Grove Elementary health center will be closed, as that building is closed during the strike.
Mobile health center service to Roosevelt and Wilson Elementary schools and North and South high schools will be halted during the strike.
Students from those schools or their siblings ages 2 through 18 can still receive care at the open health centers at Jackson and Washington elementaries, by visiting another La Clinica clinic or by visiting the La Clinica Mobile Health Center at one of its community stops. A schedule of stops is available at www.laclinicahealth.org/mobile.
A mental health therapist from the closed Oak Grove health center will be available to talk to students at Howard Elementary, where Oak Grove students will attend classes.
Washington Elementary's health center will be staffed Friday and Monday to keep previously set appointments.
