Medford School Board meeting canceled tonight

The Medford School District announced this morning that its regularly scheduled School Board meeting scheduled for tonight has been canceled because of the teachers' strike.

The announcement said the board will meet in executive session as needed through the duration of the strike, as is allowed under the state of emergency the board declared Jan. 29. The emergency resolutions gave Superintendent Phil Long extra authority, prohibited picketing on school property, restricted signs and banners on district facilities and authorized spending to continue school operations during a strike.
