Police bust suspected psilocybin mushroom growing operation
A Medford man was arrested today for allegedly growing and distributing psilocybin mushrooms from his home and a Central Point warehouse, authorities said.
Ernest Luther Taylor, 37, of the 500 block of West 11th Street, was lodged in the Jackson County Jail on charges of distribution, manufacture and possession of psilocybin mushrooms, distribution of marijuana within 1,000 feet of a school and first-degree child neglect, police said. He has since been released, jail records show
Following a six-month investigation into the growing and distribution of illegal mushrooms, Medford Area Drug and Gang Enforcement officers at about 9 a.m. served warrants at Taylor's home and a warehouse in the 7500 block of Highbanks Road, Central Point, according to a MADGE news release.
