Sierra Anderson, Southern Oregon's senior second baseman, has been selected to the Capital One Academic All-District 4 softball team, the College Sports Information Directors of America announced Thursday.

Anderson was one of 48 at the College Division level and one of 11 in District 4 to make the team, which recognizes key players of at least sophomore academic standing with cumulative grade-point averages of 3.3 or better. Those selected are automatically nominees for the Academic All-America team.

This is Anderson's second straight year receiving the kudos. She carries a 3.72 GPA as a Nursing major.

A four-year starter, the Portland native is one of the Raiders' most reliable defensive players, boasting a .940 fielding percentage going into Thursday's Cascade Conference Championships. At the plate, she has nine extra-base hits, 20 RBI and 18 runs scored in 95 at-bats.
