Pittman captures World of Outlaws triumph
WHITE CITY — Daryn Pittman won the main event of the World of Outlaws 410 sprint cars race at Southern Oregon Speedway on Wednesday.
The victory was his 13th of the season.
Pittman started the race on the outside of the front row, with Kraig Kinser leading the first four laps. Pittman took the lead on lap No. 5 and never relinquished it.
The race saw five yellow flags and one red. Kinser rolled his car on the front straightaway and second-place finisher Joey Saldana suffered a left rear flat tire halfway through the race.
The dwarf cars main event saw 11 lead changes between three different cars in the 25-lap race. Josh King, CJ Putnam and Ryan Smith each took the lead two or three times after Chad Cardoza lost the lead during lap No. 10. Smith eventually spun with two laps left and it became a two-man race for first between King and Putnam, with King pulling it out.
Camden Robustelli, who is 15, won the dwarf cars trophy dash.
