Ashland Paint Out
Join in Ashland's inaugural outdoor painting celebration beginning at 8 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 20, at North Mountain Park, 620 N. Mountain Ave. Fan out to paint in North Mountain Park or Lithia Park along Winburn Way, then return to enter framed paintings for judging at 1 p.m. at North Mountain Park. Twenty paintings will be selected to hang in Hanson Howard Gallery, 89 Oak St., from Saturday afternoon through Sept. 30. Portland Gay Men's Chorus
The group will perform eclectic music that honors and uplifts the gay community at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 20, in the Music Recital Hall on the Southern Oregon University campus, 1250 Siskiyou Blvd., Ashland. The choir will be joined by gay rights pioneers Gov. Barbara Roberts and Terry Bean. Robin Williams Memorial
The Bad Film Society will hold a public memorial for Robin Williams with a screening of the critically panned movie "Death to Smoochy" at 6 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 21, in the Ashland Elks' Dungeon. The entrance is on Will Dodge Way, an alley between E. Main St. and Lithia Way and First and Second Streets. Bring a potluck dish to share. A donation of $4 is suggested. See www.badfilmsociety.org.

The Afro-Cuban All Stars and Salsa Brava!
Recording artists Juan de Marcos and the Afro-Cuban All Stars will present a concert of Cuban music Tuesday, Sept. 23, at the Historic Ashland Armory, 208 Oak St., Ashland. Local ensemble Salsa Brava! will open the show. Bandleader de Marcos was an original member of the Buena Vista Social Club. Doors open at 8:30 p.m. The show starts at 9 p.m. Tickets cost $35 in advance and can be purchased at www.liveatthearmory.com. Tickets will cost $40 at the door. The event is open to age 21 and older only.

John Reischman and the Jaybirds
