Spartans limited in loss to Idaho

BOISE, Idaho — The Southern Oregon Spartans were limited to 15 shots in the 2-1 loss to the Idaho Junior Steelheads during Western States Hockey League action on Saturday.

Idaho had 43 shots.

Southern Oregon (11-3) struck first when Liam Finn netted a power-play goal using assists from Jonathon Lovelace and Doug Gutierrez at the 10:04 mark of the first period.

The Steelheads (9-0) answered with a pair of scores in the second period.

Spartans goalkeeper Tyler Van Vliet made 41 saves.
