Robert J. 'Bob' Gervais

Robert J. “Bob” Gervais, 70, passed away Monday, December 7, 2015, at Avamere Health Services Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Medford, Ore. He was born September 2, 1945, in Ft. Lauderdale, Fla. to Roland and Jeanne Gervais. The family settled in Laguna Beach,  California where Bob grew up and attended school in southern California.

Bob and his wife, Karin, settled in the Rogue Valley in the early 1990's to raise their family.  Bob was the owner of the RE/MAX Ideal Brokers, Inc. offices in Medford and Grants Pass, and is remembered as a philanthropist who placed the people he worked with above his bottom line as a business owner. During his 23 years in Rogue Valley real estate, Bob devoted much of his time to teaching and mentoring his many associates.

Bob became a licensed Realtor in the Rogue Valley in 1993 and began his RE/MAX franchise in 1997. He was proud of the fact that he started his first company with six agents and today RE/MAX Ideal Brokers, Inc. of Medford and Grants Pass employs over 115 Realtors and support staff. As he was building his company, he was happiest when he was guiding his brokers to grow to their full potential.

Bob dedicated his life to building his real estate businesses and was a prominent member of the community. He was active in the Table Rock Fellowship and the Rogue Valley Executive Association. He was associated with, and a generous contributor to, various charities that help support the children in need in the Rogue Valley, and derived much satisfaction from his involvement in making a difference in so many lives.

Bob founded RE/MAX Ideal Invitational Golf Tournament and Southern Oregon's Got Talent, with proceeds dedicated to helping local children in need. Other various charities that he actively supported include CASA, Sparrow Club, Children's Miracle Network and Community Works, and so many more.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Karin Gervais; his sons, Matt and Robbie; his mother, Jeanne Gervais, 97, of Medford; his sister, Doreen Hall; his brother, Ray; six grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
