Britt Festivals

Reclining under the stars with a picnic basket, a favorite band and 2,200 others at the Britt is a Southern Oregon summer tradition.

The venue, located on a hillside in Jacksonville, is known for drawing a blend of artists who appeal to a variety of musical tastes, and this year is no different, with acts that include LA singer-songwriter ZZ Ward, indie pop band Fitz and the Tantrums, '70s soft-rock stars Chicago, and Grammy-winning hit maker Diana Ross, to name a few.

Those seeking a little humor might be drawn to observational standup Brian Regan, who performed a record 28 times on "Late Show with David Letterman."

Some well-known performers have new acts in this year's Britt lineup. Supergroup Hollywood Vampires has a star-studded lineup consisting of Johnny Depp, Alice Cooper and Aerosmith guitarist Joe Perry. The Claypool Lennon Delirium melds the psychedelic minds of Primus frontman Les Claypool with the avant-garde Sean Lennon, son of John and Yoko.

The Britt website includes a complete lineup and schedule, along with parking maps and information about trolley rides to the venue.

Outside alcohol is allowed at some shows, so be sure to check with the box office before packing that tempranillo. See www.brittfest.org or call the Britt box office at 541-773-6077.
