Franti, Marley, Isaak among acts added to Britt 2018 lineup

Michael Franti, Ziggy Marley, Violent Femmes and Chris Isaak are among the acts added to the summer lineup at the Britt Music Festival.

Franti, who returns to the Jacksonville music venue for the 13th straight year, will appear Saturday, June 16, with an afternoon family matinee and a concert that night, according to a press release from Britt.

The Happy Together Tour, featuring the Turtles, Chuck Negron (formerly of Three Dog Night), Gary Puckett & The Union Gap, The Association, Mark Lindsay (former lead singer of Paul Revere & The Raiders) and The Cowsills, will perform on July 19. In September, Trombone Shorty’s Voodoo Threauxdown will celebrate New Orleans’ 300th birthday with Trombone Shorty, the Preservation Hall Jazz Band, New Breed Brass Band and Galactic.

Acts announced so far for the 2018 season include:

June 12: Ziggy Marley Rebellion Rises 2018 Tour

June 16: Michael Franti & Spearhead (children’s matinee and evening concerts)

June 19: Violent Femmes

June 20: Chris Isaak

June 21: Best of Britt with Scott Bradlee’s Postmodern Jukebox (fundraiser and concert)

June 26: Primus & Mastodon

June 28: Trampled By Turtles, with special guest Deer Tick

July 14: An evening with Straight No Chaser

July 19: Happy Together Tour 2018

July 20: Father John Misty

Aug. 16: Free Rein Summer Tour 2018 with Rebelution, Stephen Marchley, Common Kings, and Zion I

Aug. 23: Dispatch with special guest Nahko & Medicine for the People

Sept. 7: Trombone Shorty’s Voodoo Threauxdown

Tickets are already on sale to the general public for the following events: Best of Britt (event only), Primus & Mastodon, Trampled By Turtles, Straight No Chaser, Free Rein Summer Tour, Dispatch with Nahko & Medicine for the People, the release said.

Tickets for other shows go on sale to the general public at 10 a.m. Friday, April 6. Britt members can buy tickets March 16-25, and sales open to members online April 2-5.

More acts will be announced for the 2018 Britt Music & Arts Festival at 6 p.m. Thursday, April 12, during a private annual season announcement party, the release said.
