Ashland track teams have strong showing at Grants Pass meet

Ashland registered a pair of individual victories in both boys and girls at the three-school Hans Voskes Dutch Classic at Grants Pass High on Tuesday afternoon.

The Grizzlies finished third to South Medford and Grants Pass in both meets.

In boys, South Medford won with 77 points to 71 for Grants Pass and Ashland was third (37).

Ashland’s Ian Rinefort won the 400 with a time of 52.03 and E.J. Holland was victorious in the 1,500 (3:59.50).

The Grizzly girls winners were Cassidy Caprari in the 3,000 (11:44.03) and Lilianne Smith in the shot put (34-5¼).

The Ashland girls scored 32 points to 88 for winning Grants Pass and 61 for second-place South Medford.

North Medford’s lone victory came in No. 3 doubles as Zach Shoop and Casey Haggins defeated Charlie Burr and Elan Teichman, 6-1, 6-1
