Last day to vote in bird photo contest

Online voting for the 2011 Oregon Outdoors Wild Bird Photo Contest ends at 5 p.m. today.

This year's contest attracted 334 entries, which can be viewed on our contest website at www.mailtribune.com/birdcontest. To vote, go to the website, fill out a registration form and follow the directions. You can vote up to three times for your favorite photos.

Reader votes will count for 25 percent of the total score, which will be added to the tallies of our five expert judges. The winning photos will be published in Oregon Outdoors Friday, Dec. 23.

Grand prize is a pair of Pro Master Binoculars, EL 10 x 42, valued at $299, from Total Camera and Video, 1310 A Center Drive, Medford.

First place is a pair of Eagle Optics Denali 8 x 42 Roof Prism Binoculars, valued at $229, from Wild Birds Unlimited, 712 Crater Lake Ave., Medford.

Second place is a $100 gift certificate from Grange Co-op.

Third place receives a pair of Bushnell 8 x 42 binoculars, valued at $79, from Black Bird Shopping Center, 1810 W. Main St., Medford.

Fourth place takes home a Patriot bird feeder and 20-pound bag of bird seed, valued at $36, from Black Bird Shopping Center.
