1 dead in east Medford shooting
One person is dead after a shooting Thursday night in an east Medford cul-de-sac that may have stemmed from a domestic dispute.
One person was “beyond help“ from an apparent gunshot wound in the 2200 block of Smokethorn Way, according to a press release issued Friday by the Medford Police Department.
The alleged shooter — whom police have not yet identified — called 911 about 10:45 p.m. Thursday and told Emergency Communications of Southern Oregon dispatchers that they'd shot their significant other during a domestic dispute.
As of Friday afternoon, Medford police had made no arrests and have withheld the names of the shooter and the person who was shot until the victim’s next of kin could be notified.
No other suspects are believed to be involved.
