We're making some plans along these lines and we have the excessland to do it, said Scott McCollum, president of Rogue Regency Inc.
He said construction is not likely to start before February.
The 123-room motel was opened in 1990 as the Quality Inn at the RogueValley and changed its name to Rogue Regency Inn in 1993.
The 60 rooms would be added on the west end of the building. The 10,000-square-footconvention facility would extend east toward the restaurant.
The convention hall, with a capacity of about 400 people, would replacethe 180-person meeting room.
We've toyed with this for a long time, McCollum said. We'vehad pressure from the business community as far as what's needed aroundhere.
