Economic profile on region available
A profile of the economy of Jackson and Josephine counties has been prepared by the Oregon Employment Department.
The Regional Economic Region 8 Profile includes data on population, unemployment trends, local industries, occupations and income and wages in the two counties.
It also covers services provided by the Employment Department.
The profile was prepared by John Anderson, the Employment Department economist for the Jackson-Josephine region.
The publication is one in a series of 15 profiling Oregon's economic regions. Additional publications cover the state as a whole and the Portland metro area.

Editor appointed to council
Medford resident Charles McHenry, editor of the on-line Southern Oregon Magazine, has been appointed to the Oregon Telecommunications Forum Council.
McHenry was one of seven new members appointed by Gov. John Kitzhaber on Tuesday. Kitzhaber chairs the 11-member forum.
Created in 1995, the forum's mission is to advise state government on telecommunication policy issues.
