The renovation of Callahan's Restaurant will include 14 lodging units, to open by mid-December.

Ron and Donna Bergquist are adding six rooms below the existing restaurant and six luxury suites with fireplaces and Jacuzzis above the restaurant.

The expansion includes a new lobby with a vaulted ceiling and 25-foot-high rock fireplace.

During construction, the restaurant will be closed during weekdays, opening at 4 p.m. for dinner. It will remain open from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. on weekends.

We hope to have the restaurant open on weekdays again by Thanksgiving, in time for the Mount Ashland ski season, Donna Bergquist said.
