Medford Clinic has named Greg Gilbert as regional director of clinic operations for the north region. He will be responsible for all clinics on the Providence Medford Medical Center campus, the cancer center and all clinic outreach programs.

Gilbert received a master's in administration from Central Michigan University and has extensive background as a physician's assistant. He most recently worked as director of ambulatory care services for Willamette Falls Hospital in Portland. He is originally from Medford and has family and friends in the area.

Gilbert joins Paula Hansen, who assumed the role of regional director of clinic operations for the clinic's southern region in September, with responsibility for the Black Oak and Ashland sites. Hansen, a registered nurse, previously was director of medical operations.

Richard Tarkon recently was promoted to branch manager of Leader Mortgage's downtown branch.

He has worked as a loan officer for Leader for the past two years and his career in the escrow field has spanned 24 years.

Michael D. Benke, risk manager for LTM Inc., has been named corporate risk manager for KRC Holdings Inc., which owns LTM, and 10 other construction materials companies including Rogue Aggregates and Medford Ready Mix Inc.

KRC is a subsidiary of MDU Resources Inc., based in Bismarck, N.D.

Benke will be based in Medford and will oversee the casualty, property and workers compensation insurance programs as well as safety for KRC Holdings Inc.

He is a member of the Central Point Rotary Club, and a past board member of Providence Medical Center, Southern Oregon Drug Awareness and the Medford Chamber of Commerce.

Dan Berryman has been named investment executive for Prime-Vest Financial Services Inc., which is now situated in the new Medford branch of Douglas National Bank on Crater Lake Highway.

A former assistant vice president with U.S. Bancorp Securities Division, Berryman managed a sales force of 30 customer service representatives offering mutual funds and annuities.

He was named sales manager of the year in 1996 and 1997 and has been a member of the National Association of Security Dealers since 1985.

Melanie Wingo has been hired as the primary anchor for Newswatch on KDRV 12, Medford and KDKF 31, Klamath Falls.

Replacing Beth Fisher, who moved to Las Vegas, she will share anchoring duties with Brian Morton on weekdays at 5, 6 and 11 p.m.

Wingo began her news career at the Newswatch as bureau reporter for KDKF 31 in Klamath Falls in November 1997. In May 1998, she moved to the Newswatch in Medford as a reporter, and became a member of the Newswatch Live This Morning in August of last year.

A California native, she earned a bachelor's degree in journalism from Syracuse University and began her broadcast career in Boston and Providence, R.I.

Marie Donovan, co-owner and broker of Ashland Homes Real Estate, received the 1999 Realtor of the Year Award for her contributions to the real estate profession.

She was presented the award at the Rogue Valley Association of Realtors annual luncheon held April 16.

Donovan is a member of the Ashland Rotary Club and is nearing her term as president of the Ashland Family YMCA.
