V.A. Domiciliary names new psychiatry service chief
WHITE CITY -- Lawrence Inderbitzin has been named the new chief of psychiatry service at the Department of Veterans Affairs Domiciliary.
Until he joined the Domiciliary staff earlier this year, he was a professor and researcher in psychiatry and psychoanalysis at Emory University, Atlanta, Ga.
He was also director of clinical psychiatry at Grady Healthcare System in Atlanta.
Inderbitzin has worked in private practice in Washington, D.C., where he also served as a consultant to the Veterans Affairs Medical Center. He has held a variety of positions in the psychiatry department at Georgetown University.
His reports, research papers and articles have been published in more than 30 publications. He has been awarded several grants for research on topics such as schizophrenia, heterogeneity and brain sex differences.
