A Cajun restaurant called Louisiana Grill plans to open this fall in the former Mexicali Rose Restaurant.

The restaurant, slated to open in October, will be operated by Michael Desimone and Marlan Wallace.

Sprint has begun delivering its new yellow and white pages to the White City area.

The phone company, which provides service to White City and other Upper Rogue River communities, will distribute more than 13,000 phone books in the area.

This year's book features a photograph of a Clark's nutcracker perched on a pine tree near Crater Lake that was taken by area resident Brian McLernon.

Starting Sept. 1, old phone books can be dropped off for recycling at Butte Falls Recycling Center, Prospect Service Center, Southern Oregon Sanitation, White City Elementary and Rogue Disposal & Recycling Center.
