White City Big R due in month
WHITE CITY -- Farmers, outdoorsmen and do-it-yourselfers will soon have another place to browse and shop.
Big R Ranch, Farm and Home Supply -- a Klamath Falls staple for more than 35 years -- will open a 50,000-square-foot store at the intersection of highways 62 and 140 next month.
Manager Dick Ashwood describes Big R as a cross between Grange Co-op and Blackbird.
The store will feature six departments: sporting goods, clothing, automotive, hardware (including home and garden), feed and farm supplies, and tack and animal health.
Ashwood hopes the store will open Feb. 15. Construction has been completed.
We are doing all the stuff inside now, says Ashwood. We are putting in all the merchandise and training the staff.
Big R will employ 40 to 45 people. The White City location will be the third Big R. The first opened in Klamath Falls in 1963 and a second opened in Redmond in 1968.
