The Back Porch Gift Shop, at 120 W. California St., will close Saturday. The store's owner, Sue Casebeer, is retiring, an employee said.

The Upper Rogue Regional Tourism Alliance has been approved for a matching grant of $5,000 from the Oregon Tourism Commission.

The funds are provided by Oregon lottery revenues and the U.S. Department of Agriculture Rural Community Assistance Program.

The group will use the funding to expand its marketing capacity, focusing on tourists en route to Crater Lake National Park while promoting the region as the gateway to Oregon's only national park, according to Alma Spicer, alliance chairwoman.
