KOBI NewsChannel 5 has hired Dave West

as an account executive for the NBC affiliate. West has more than 19 years' experience in sales and marketing. He worked for Lotts' Inc., an auto stereo and upholstery dealership, before coming to Medford.

West will handle advertising in Grants Pass, Roseburg and Southern Oregon coastal cities. He can be reached at (541) 956-0706.

The trestees of the Carpenter Foundation recently selected Polly Williams

as program officer. The program officer represents the foundation in work with agencies and the communities in Jackson and Josephine counties.

Williams succeeds Sabra Hoffman, who is retiring after eight years with the foundation.

Williams has been executive director of La Clinica del Valle for 10 years. During her tenure, the clinic grew from 10 to 50 employees. She serves on the boards of a variety of regional and state health organizations and is chairwoman of the local Federal Emergency

Management Act committee, which distributes annual grants. She also has reviewed grants for Region X of the federal Public Health Service and for the Northwest Regional Primary Care Association.

Williams has received several awards for her leadership abilities, and has been asked to provide technical assistance to other community health clinics in the region.

She graduated from Southern Oregon University in 1984 with bachelor's degrees in Spanish and sociology.

Katherine Greene

has joined Bob Geisel, director of the Phoenix Counseling Service, as a clinical therapist.

Greene is a licensed clinical social worker who began working in the field in 1979. She holds a master's degree in social work from Fresno State University and a doctorate in clinical psychology from the American School of Professional Psychology Hawaii Campus.

She worked for the Fresno County Department of Mental Health for 14 years, and for the Kahi Mohala Psychiatric Hospital in Hawaii for six years.

The Phoenix Counseling Service, at 153 S. Main St., Phoenix, provides substance abuse treatment, mental health consultation and therapy for adults and families. The telephone number is 535-4133.
