First part of project at airport completed
Phase one of the runway extension project at the Medford airport is officially complete, officials of the Ore-Cal Trade Corp. announced Wednesday.
The corporation, which operates the Foreign Trade Zone at the airport under contract with Jackson County, reported that the first phase included construction of a taxiway and the East Cargo Apron in the trade zone.
Mike Burrill, chairman of Ore-Cal, said in a prepared statement that the new cargo ramp will allow wide-body jets access to the airport for passenger and cargo service.
LTM Inc. was the contractor for the project.
