Theresa Klima,

executive housekeeper for Hawthorn Inn & Suites, has been named 2000 Lodging Employee of the Year by the Oregon Lodging Association. The award recognizes employees who have provided customer service beyond normal job responsibilities. Some examples of Klima's excellent customer service include hauling laundry to the laundromat when the washing machine broke down, purchasing a special blend of tea for an ill customer, and coming to work while recovering from an injury.

Kelly A. Madding

and the city of Rogue River

have been awarded Certificates of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting from the Government Finance Officers Association.

Madding, who this year became city administrator of Talent, was given the award for her service as city administrator and recorder of Rogue River.

The certificates are awarded for a constructive spirit of full disclosure, according to the GFOA, a nonprofit professional association serving about 14,000 government finance professionals nationwide.

Carol J. Weir,

deputy recorder for Rogue River, has been accepted as the 435th member into the second level membership of the International Institute of Municipal Clerks Academy. Weir has been employed with Rogue River since 1983, serving as deputy recorder since 1985.

The Rogue Valley Association of Realtors Million Dollar Club
