Gerald W. Burns, CPA, of Medford will be treasurer for the National Association of State Boards of Accountancy for 2001-02.

Burns has served on the Oregon board for nine years and is past chairman. He currently chairs NASBA's administration and finance committee and serves on the NASBA's services group managing board.

His area of expertise deals extensively with investment and real estate matters, as well as business and tax planning for individuals and small businesses.

He's also worked closely with high tech and startup companies, and has substantial experience with issues related to qualified and non-qualified stock options used by these companies.
