Body of White City man found
The body of a White City man who had been missing since April was found Saturday near a campground north of Howard Prairie Lake.
Glen Dyer, 31, was originally reported missing April 22, after friends and relatives had not heard from him for two weeks.
Jackson County sheriff's deputies said a group of hikers spotted Dyer's body while they were on a trail at the Daley Creek campground. The campground is on Forest Road 37, also known as the Big Elk Road, about two miles north of Dead Indian Memorial Road.
The area around Dead Indian Memorial Road and Highway 37, known as Deadwood Junction, is popular among people who want to drive in snow.
Deputies said Dyer had not been seen since his vehicle became stuck in the snow off Highway 37 around April 8. Deputies said the cause of Dyer's death is unknown, but it appears to have been accidental.
