Forgery

' Weizman Limay DeLeon-Rodas, 23, no address available. Medford police on Monday arrested DeLeon-Rodas on charges of first-degree criminal possession of a forged instrument, misuse of a license and being an illegal alien. He was lodged in the Jackson County Jail, where he was being held Monday without bail pending a review of his immigration status.

Drugs

' Ritaann Marie Edwards, 31, of the first block of Western Avenue, Medford. Edwards made her initial appearance Monday in Jackson County Circuit Court on an indictment charging her with possession of amphetamines. She was processed at the Jackson County Jail, then released Monday on her own recognizance.

' Karyn Belle Gallagher, 38, of the 500 block of West Second Street, Medford. Gallagher made her initial appearance Monday in Jackson County Circuit Court for arraignment on an indictment charging her with possession of amphetamines. She was processed at the Jackson County Jail on Monday then released on her own recognizance.

Fugitive

' Carlos Cruz-Tapia, 22, no address available. An Oregon State Police trooper Monday arrested Cruz-Tapia on a fugitive warrant out of Washington, where he is wanted on narcotics charges, as well as furnishing false information on a vehicle and failure to display a driver's license. He was lodged in the Jackson County Jail without bail while his immigration status is reviewed.

Sex abuse

' Richard Erwin Jarvis, 19, of the 100 block of Garfield Street, Ashland. Ashland police on Sunday arrested Jarvis on two counts of first-degree sexual abuse as well as an outstanding Ashland municipal warrant. He was lodged in the Jackson County Jail, where he was being held Monday on more than &

36;2 million bail.

Drugs

' Allen Roy Helms, 46, of the 9000 block of Wagner Creek Road, Talent. Medford police on Sunday arrested Helms on charges of possession of a controlled substance, attempting to elude and reckless driving as well as warrants charging that he failed to appear on previous drug charges. He was lodged in the Jackson County Jail, where he was being held Monday without bail.

Crime reports

Attempted robbery '

7581 Highway 62, White City. Jackson County sheriff's deputies took a report of an attempted armed robbery at Bobbio's Pizza at 3:57 a.m. An employee was confronted by someone armed with an unknown type of weapon who tried to force the victim into his vehicle, police said. An altercation ensued, and the robber fled.

The suspect was described as a white male, 25-30 years old, 6 feet tall and about 180 pounds. He was last seen wearing all-black clothing and a black ski mask.

Theft

' first block of Reager Street, Medford. Jackson County sheriff's deputies took a report Monday of the theft of jewelry and a book valued at &

36;16,000. The break-in and theft were reported to sheriff's deputies at 2:12 p.m.

Car theft '

2100 block of Table Rock Road, Medford. Medford police took a report of the theft of a 2000 Mazda Protege valued at &

36;10,000. The theft was reported to police at 8:19 a.m.

Miscellaneous

Jail releases

' A total of 113 inmates were released last week from the Jackson County Jail to meet its court-ordered cap of 190 inmates. Of those, 30 were released before their scheduled court appearances, eight were granted early release from a sentence and 75 were released for miscellaneous reasons.
