Forgery

' Leonel Valle-Reyes, 35, of the 200 block of Ivy Street, Medford. Medford police on Sunday arrested Valle-Reyes on a charge of first-degree criminal possession of a forged instrument. He was lodged at the Jackson County Jail on a no-bail hold while his immigration status was reviewed, and then he was deported Monday afternoon.

Assault

' David Vance Forster, 34, of the 300 block of South Peach Street, Medford. Medford police on Sunday arrested Forster on charges of felony fourth-degree assault, fourth-degree assault and harassment. He was lodged at the Jackson County Jail, then released Monday afternoon on his own recognizance.

Drugs

' Walter Samuel Peterson, 61, of the 700 block of C Street, Ashland. Peterson appeared in Jackson County Circuit Court on Monday for arraignment on a felony indictment charging him with possession of marijuana, driving under the influence of intoxicants and endangering the welfare of another person He was processed at the Jackson County Jail, then released Monday on his own recognizance.

Nonsupport

' Johnny Lee Winchester Jr., 39, of Townsend, Mont. Winchester appeared Monday in Jackson County Circuit Court for arraignment on a felony warrant charging him with criminal nonsupport. He was processed at the Jackson County Jail, where he was released Monday afternoon on his own recognizance.

' 1200 block of North Riverside Avenue, Medford. Medford police took a report at 9:18 a.m. Monday of a break-in to a business from which a laptop computer valued at &

Jail releases

' A total of 54 inmates were released last week from the Jackson County Jail to meet its court-ordered cap of 190 inmates. Of those, 23 were released before scheduled court appearances, two were granted early release from a sentence and 29 were released for other reasons.
