Trash fire

' East Antelope Road, White City. Jackson County Fire District No. — firefighters drenched a half-acre fire at a landfill operated by Rogue Disposal at about 10:30 p.m. Wednesday. Don Cordell, a manager with the disposal company, said fires at the landfill are fairly common, often sparked by waste from meth labs or solvent-soaked rags. In summer, when the chance of a fire spreading is high, a company employee monitors the trash into the night to watch for fires.

Correction

Two 13-year-old children linked to a White City grassfire that burned roughly an acre Tuesday night are girls. They were misidentified in a previous report.
