Soren Ara Stiehl, 36, Rogue River. Ashland police arrested Stiehl Sunday on charges of first-degree burglary, fourth-degree assault, resisting arrest, harassment and two counts of second-degree trespassing. Police said Stiehl on Friday broke into the home of a woman acquaintance in the 700 block of Oak Street, Ashland. After forcing entry into her house, he assaulted her male companion and fled. Ashland police found Stiehl at a local convenience store on Sunday. When they confronted him, he fought with the officers. He was lodged in the Jackson County Jail on &

Dawn Estellee Brumble, 34, Medford. Medford police arrested Brumble late Saturday on a charge of first-degree theft, two counts of identity theft, a charge of first-degree forgery and a parole violation on a charge of first-degree theft. Police said Brumble allegedly stole mail from area residents to make money using their identities. She was lodged in the Jackson County Jail without bail.

Injury accident

Bicycle accident '

A bicyclist was flown by helicopter to Rogue Valley Medical Center Sunday after suffering serious injuries in a collision with a car near Emigrant Lake.

The cyclist, a man apparently in his 40s, was headed north just after 7 a.m. on Highway 66 near 151 Emigrant Lake Road when he collided with a small car, said Bob Holt, an engineer with Jackson County Fire District 5.

The cyclist was knocked unconscious by the accident, Holt said. The biker carried no apparent identification. Traffic was backed up while the helicopter retrieved the victim.

Details of the accident, the identities of the cyclist and the driver and the extent of injuries remained sketchy at press time.
