' Tolman Creek Road, Ashland. Jackson County Fire District No. 5 firefighters quickly quashed a car fire about 9:45 a.m. Thursday. The vehicle reportedly had been overheating when it stopped under a large pine. A fire that started in the engine compartment destroyed the vehicle, but fire district and Oregon Department of Forestry crews kept it from spreading to the tree and surrounding brush, fire officials said.
