Miscellaneous

Body found

' Emigrant Lake. Jackson County's major assault and death investigation team was activated after a 911 caller reported discovering a body near the west shore of Emigrant Lake off Highway 66 at about 2:10 p.m., sheriff's Capt. Joe Puckett said. Jackson County Fire District No. 5 crews were the first to arrive at the scene and law enforcement came soon after. Investigators' preliminary report indicated the death appeared to be a suicide, but a county medical examiner will make an official ruling after further examination.
