A sheriff's deputy responded to a report Thursday that an apparently homeless man opened a home's sliding-glass door, strolled in, and demanded coffee and cigarettes. The man left toward Jacksonville, but authorities caught up with William Avery Nash, 48, and arrested him on a charge of first-degree trespass. He was lodged in jail, then taken to Rogue Valley Medical Center for a mental health evaluation.
