Felony arrests

Sex abuse '

Del Jones, 43, of the 700 block of North Laurel Street, Ashland. An Ashland police officer Thursday arrested Jones on two counts of second-degree sexual abuse, first-degree unlawful sexual penetration, first-degree sodomy, first-degree sexual abuse and being an illegal alien. He was lodged in the Jackson County Jail, where he remained Thursday night without bail.

Sex abuse '

Juan Jose Solis-Guzman, 20, of the 2900 block of Foothill Road, Medford. Solis-Guzman made his initial appearance Thursday in Jackson County Circuit Court on charges of second-degree sexual abuse and third-degree sexual abuse. He was booked into jail then released on his own recognizance.

Drugs '

Tianna Lynn Hines, 34, of the 8000 block of Thunderhead Avenue, White City. Hines made her initial appearance Thursday in Circuit Court on a charge of possession of amphetamines. She was booked into jail then released on her own recognizance.

Theft '

Dennis Ray McCorkendale, 56, of Roseburg. McCorkendale made his initial appearance Thursday in Circuit Court on two counts of first-degree theft. He was booked into jail then released on his own recognizance.

Kenneth Scott Phillips, 37, of the 2300 block of Flanders Street, White City. Phillips made his initial appearance Thursday in Circuit Court on a charge of second-degree theft. He was booked into jail then released on his own recognizance.

Stephanie Shepard-Stempel, 21, of the 200 block of Seventh Street, Grants Pass. Shepard-Stempel made her initial appearance Thursday in Circuit Court on four counts of negotiating a bad check and first-degree theft. She was booked into jail then released on her own recognizance.

36;5,000 was stolen.

500 block of West Sixth Street, Medford. A Medford police officer Thursday took a report of a theft in which a 1997 Ford Taurus valued at &

36;4,000 was stolen. A purse and its contents, valued at &

36;500, were inside the car.

Miscellaneous

Armed robbery arrest '

Jackson County sheriff's detectives late Thursday arrested a 17-year-old boy on charges that he took &

36;1,000 from a man he robbed at gunpoint.

The youth, a Medford resident, was taken to juvenile hall on robbery charges in connection with a May 30 incident that occurred in the 3000 block of Griffin Creek Road, sheriff's detective Colin Fagan said.

Police believe the teen and Juan Gabriel Camacho, 21, drove a man to the Griffin Creek Road location, where they robbed him at gunpoint and took about &

36;1,000 from him before leaving the scene, Fagan said.

Camacho was arrested last week on charges of conspiracy to commit first-degree robbery and first-degree robbery.
