Road projects across region set this week
The following Oregon Department of Transportation work is scheduled for the Rogue Valley area in the coming week:
Interstate 5 Exit 14, Highway 66 (south Ashland interchange):
Paving scheduled for completion this week, 6 p.m. to 6 a.m. Monday through Thursday. Traffic control is in effect and 20-minute delays are expected. I-5 exit 14 ramps will be closed intermittently during these times. Drivers should reduce speed and use caution. Project is scheduled for completion in September.
I-5 Exit 30 (north Medford interchange):
Crews will work on and around the I-5 exit 30 median. Motorists should watch for traffic delays both northbound and southbound. Roadway construction continues on Poplar Drive at the Oregon Highway 62 intersection through the month. Motorists should watch for traffic control and expect delays up to 20 minutes. Project completion is scheduled for October 2005.
I-5 Exit 48, Rogue River Bridge:
Motorists should watch for trucks entering and exiting the construction zone.
I-5 Exit 33, Pine Street, Central Point:
The roadway is narrowed to one lane in each direction on Pine Street. Motorists can expect moderate to heavy congestion from I-5 ramps eastbound across the Bear Creek structure, through the Penninger Road intersection and across the bridge. Bridge construction is under way. Motorists are advised to proceed carefully through the construction zone and avoid distractions that could lead to rear-end collisions.
Highway 238, downtown Jacksonville:
Roadway construction continues. Final roadway paving is under way. Flaggers will provide traffic control as needed. Motorists should expect intermittent traffic delays. Project completion is scheduled for Sept. 30.
Highway 234, downtown Gold Hill:
Two lanes of traffic will be maintained through Gold Hill during construction. Motorists should watch for traffic control and reduce their speed. This project is scheduled for completion in September.
Highway 99, from Charlotte Anne Road in Medford to Colver Road in Talent:
Construction will continue this week on manholes and inlets. Crews are active along the shoulder of the highway. Motorists should watch for traffic control and lane closures. This project is scheduled for completion on Dec. 31.
