Drugs '

Michael Stanley Russell, 44, Medford. Police arrested Russell Saturday on warrants for failure to appear on charges of possession of amphetamine. Robert Matthew Martin, 27, Medford. Police arrested Martin Sunday on two charges of being a felon in possession of a weapon. He was lodged in the Jackson County Jail in lieu of &

Theft '

Phillip Lee Moore, 28, Butte Falls. Medford police arrested Moore Sunday for failure to appear on nine counts of first-degree theft, one count of second-degree theft, two counts of third-degree theft, unauthorized use of a motor vehicle and possession of amphetamine. He was lodged in the Jackson County Jail; no bail listed.

Stanley Robert Wilson, 45, Medford. Medford police arrested Wilson Sunday on a charge of possession of amphetamine and a parole violation for a charge of first-degree theft. He was lodged in the Jackson County Jail with no bail.

Assault '

Jackson County sheriff's deputies are investigating a report of an assault in the 1000 block of Rossanley Drive at 1:46 a.m. Sunday.

Burglary '

A resident in the 5200 block of Kane Creek Road, Gold Hill, reported the theft of about &

36;1,000 worth of items at about noon Sunday. Jackson County sheriff's deputies are investigating.

Car theft '

Two cars were reported stolen ' and returned ' from Butler Acura at 1899 Highway 99, Ashland, at 12:50 p.m. Sunday.

Injury accidents

Fatal crash '

One Klamath Falls man died and another remained in critical condition Sunday after an auto crash on Highway 140 near Elk Creek. Alcohol appears to have been a factor in the accident, police said.

Corbett Matthew Jones, 30, died at the scene of the accident. Passenger Nathan Danial Conner, 30, was in critical condition late Sunday at Rogue Valley Medical Center.

Jones' 1993 Pontiac Grand Am was headed west on Highway 140 at milepost 32.6, according to Oregon State Police reports. Jones failed to negotiate a right-hand curve, lost control and the car struck the guardrail.

Car hits house '

Two people were taken to Rogue Valley Medical Center with injuries Sunday after their car hit a house in the 2000 block of the right fork of Foots Creek Road, Rogue River.

Jackson County Sheriff Mike Winters had no information about the make of the car, the extent of injuries or the damage to the house as of press time.
