Sex offender registration '
Michael Ray Duda, 20, of the 2600 block of Falcon Street, White City. Medford police Sunday arrested Duda on a charge of failing to register as a sex offender. He was lodged at the Jackson County Jail, then released Sunday on his own recognizance.

' 1500 block of Biddle Road, Medford. Medford police took a report of a theft from the register of a Subway Sandwiches store at 10:15 a.m. While the clerk was in another room and no other customers were in the store, a man walked into the store, reached into the register, took an undisclosed amount of cash and left, police said.
The theft was captured on the store's surveillance equipment and the lone clerk, a woman, did not return to the register until after the thief left, police said. The theft remained under investigation Monday, police said.

36;6,500. The theft was reported to police at 11:20 a.m.
' A total of 99 inmates were released last week from the Jackson County Jail to meet its court-ordered cap of 230 inmates. Of those, 43 were released before their scheduled court appearances, 19 were granted an early release from a sentence and 37 were released for miscellaneous reasons.
