Stolen vehicle '
Medford police are trying to track down an unidentified man who broke into two auto dealerships late Thursday then crashed a stolen pickup after leading Phoenix police officers on a pursuit.
The man stole two sets of keys from World Famous Autos in the 500 block of South Riverside Avenue, then went down the street and stole a black 1997 Ford F-150 from Alan's Auto Sales in the 500 block of South Riverside, Medford police Lt. Mike Moran said.
The theft occurred at about 10:45 p.m. After leaving the dealership in the pickup, the man made his way to Phoenix, Moran said. Phoenix officers saw the stolen truck and chased it back toward Medford before losing sight of it near the intersection of Barnett and North Phoenix roads.
Moran said the vehicle later crashed along Alder Creek Road. Police were unable to locate the driver. Anyone with information about the identity and whereabouts of the driver is asked to contact Medford police at 770-4783.
