' 2000 block of Cardinal Way, Medford. Medford police responded to a suspicious, scorched-looking briefcase left in front of a business Friday morning. The Oregon State Police bomb squad used a robot to move the case away from the building to an area protected by sandbags, Medford police Lt. Mike Moran said. Then, they blasted it with high-pressure water to destroy the case, which turned out to be harmless. Cardinal Way was closed from about 8:20 to 9 a.m. while police worked.
