Thanks for good service

I would like to thank the folks at the Ashland Daily Tidings, especially in the circulation department. I look forward to receiving my paper everyday. I enjoy my sudoku, the news, updates on entertainment, and of course the Revels. Unfortunately, there is a thief in my neighborhood, and he/she steals my paper almost once-a-week. I feel bad for calling so frequently, but without fail they send someone out to make sure I have my paper. Thank You.

Right wing sports 'odious truth'

When was the last time you heard the likes of Rush Limbaugh, Mitch McConnel, Dick Cheney, Donald Rumsfeld, Sean Hannity, O'Reilly, Karl Rove or G.W. Bush apologize for anything or correct falsehoods they have repeated so many times that 20 percent of the people still believe them? The right-wing echo machine is merely entertainment and amusement for those who will not face reality and Rep. Stark should be congratulated for uttering "odious truth."

Social security is a scam

For quite a long time now we have been told that our social security benefits will soon stop because there will be no money left in this fund especially now as the baby boomers are of age to start collecting from it! In the past we were told that the government employees had been "borrowing from it." My question is how much money was taken in this manner and when will it be paid back plus interest? Sure just might keep up solvent for a very long time.
