Cheryl Breeden, group marketing manager of the Oregon Shakespeare Festival, has been selected to serve on the 2008 National Tour Association Leadership Team.

NTA is the premier association for packaged travel and provides education, advocacy representation and business opportunities to thousands of tour operators, hotels, restaurants, attractions, destination marketers and other worldwide travel industry professionals.

Peterson Machinery Co., has named Bryan Barnes sales manager.

He will oversee the prime product sales force for the organization, reporting to sales general manager Michael Tougher. Barnes worked in the oil fields of California and Alaska, where he worked on the pipeline project, before moving into sales. His 15 years of experience in equipment sales covers all Caterpillar machines.

Kim McNamara has been named executive chef at Avamere at Waterford, a senior living community.

McNamara has worked in the Rogue Valley for more than a decade, acting as executive sous chef for the Rogue Valley Country Club for seven years and as chef for the Harry and David Country Village, developing food and wine events. McNamara served as the culinary arts instructor at North Medford High School, and culinary program director of the Culinary Professionals Institute in Grants Pass developing vocational education programs.

She is a graduate of The Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, N.Y., earning her A.O.S. Culinary degree in 1991. She also earned a bachelor's degree in English at Sul Ross State University in Alpine, Texas, in 1987.


The Home Builders Association of Jackson County named Lori Magel of Lori Magel Homes Builder of the Year for 2007.

The association board and officers for 2008 were installed in December. Peggy M. Hanson has joined Bank of the Cascades as assistant vice president and branch manager of the Ashland branch on North Main Street.

Hanson joined the Bank of the Cascades team in October and has more than 30 years of experience in the financial services industry. Her professional experience includes branch management with Wells Fargo, consumer and commercial lending and branch operations. She has served as a board and loan committee member for the Southern Oregon Women's Access to credit and is a past advisory board member for Junior Achievement.

LibertyBank Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Robert Fenstermacher has been elected to serve a three-year term on the board of directors of the American Bankers Association.

The election was held at a recent ABA convention in San Diego. The ABA recently merged with another trade association, America's Community Bankers, and now represents more than 95 percent of the industry's $12.7 trillion in assets — making it the nation's largest bank trade association.

LibertyInvestment and Insurance, located at Liberty Bank, has named Dennis Silva financial consultant at the bank's south Grants Pass office.

Silva has more than six years of experience as a financial adviser in the Rogue Valley, most recently with Raymond James Financial services in Ashland. He earned a bachelor's degree in economics at California State University at Chico.
