Harry & David announces new president
Steve Lightman has been named president of Harry & David.
He succeeds former CEO and president Craig Johnson, who resigned in February.
David Taiclet, 1-800-Flowers' Gourmet Food Group president, said Lightman is moving to Medford in two weeks and assumes his new duties March 23.
Lightman's 30-plus-year career in direct marketing includes stops at Boston Apparel Group, Orchard Brands, Crosstown Traders, Sharper Image and Fingerhut companies.
Lightman will report to Taiclet. Joe Pititto, 1-800-Flowers spokesman, said Lightman will have the same duties as Johnson without the CEO title.
Johnson led Harry & David following its emergence from Chapter 11 bankruptcy in 2011 until 1-800-Flowers reorganized Harry & David's executive staff following the 2014 holiday sales season.
1-800-Flowers purchased Harry & David last fall.
